I am pleased to announce some important modifications to Eversource's tree removal policy relating to the Transmission Right of Way Reliability Program (TRRP). If you are a resident impacted by TRRP, please refer to the revised policy highlighted in the updated TRRP presentation. Eversource will be reaching out directly to impacted homeowners in the coming days to inform them of the updated policy.
I want to thank the many Madison community members who advocated for these changes, and to State Senator Christine Cohen and State Representative John-Michael Parker for their assistance in facilitating a productive conversation with Eversource. I also want to thank the management team at Eversource, who listened carefully about our concerns and were willing to be responsive through a policy update. Although these modifications will not prevent the removal of all trees in the transmission right of way, they do assist in preserving many species and the quality of life for some impacted homeowners.
