First Selectwoman's Community Update

First Selectwoman's community update

While we continue to experience extreme hot weather throughout the summer months, the Town will continue to activate cooling centers for residents to escape the heat when necessary. Please visit the Town website for more information on cooling center locations and hours.

I also want to remind residents that we are now in the middle of hurricane season. Please take a few moments to ensure that you and your loved ones are prepared for possible storm events, including extended power outages.  For information on ways to prepare for hurricanes, please visit:

Summer Concert Options

Join us this Sunday, August 6th at 6 p.m. on the Town Green for a free concert featuring 1 Wild Night Bon Jovi Tribute Band. To see a full line-up for this summer, please visit our Summer Concerts webpage.

The Town also sponsors a concert series at Salt Meadow Park. Please join us on Friday, August 11th at Salt Meadow Park for a free concert featuring The Shoreline Connection.  Concerts begin at 6 p.m. For more information on the dates and line-up for the summer, please visit the Salt Meadow Park webpage.

Beachcomber Night

On Thursday, August 17th the Madison Chamber of Commerce will celebrate Beachcomber Night in downtown Madison from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Beachcomber Night is an outdoor event featuring live music, wine, & beer tastings, food vendors, and drawings for great prizes. The event will span both the north and south sides of Rt. 1, as well as Wall Street. Part of this year’s proceeds will benefit Madison Hose Company No. 1 and North Madison Volunteer Fire Dept. Madison Jaycee Jamboree

The Madison Jaycees will hold their annual Jamboree on Friday, August 18th from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at the Surf Club. There will be a raffle with great prizes from local businesses up and down the shoreline. Many local businesses have been generous to provide prizes for this event, including restaurants, bars, breweries, gift stores, jewelry stores, hardware stores, and more! Please visit the Madison Jaycee's Facebook page for more information.

Summer Festival of Arts & Antiques

The Madison Historical Society will host a Summer Festival of Arts and Antiques on Saturday, August 26 from 9:00 a.m.to 4:00 p.m. This end-of-summer celebration of art, antiques, handmade crafts, and family fun will feature vendors of fine antiques and collectibles from across the region, selling ceramics, furniture, glass, jewelry, kitchenware, linens, memorabilia, pottery, toys, vintage accessories, and more.
