High School Graduation A special congratulations to the Daniel Hand Class of 2023! The Board of Education will be conducting a graduation ceremony Friday, June 16th on the Town Green starting at 6 p.m. I want to applaud this amazing group of young people for your many accomplishments over these last four challenging years. On behalf of the residents of Madison, I wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
Summer Concert OptionsSummer concerts will kick off on Friday, June 16th from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., with ATWDF (Almost the Whole Damn Family) at Salt Meadow Park. For more information on the dates and line-up for the summer, please visit the Salt Meadow Park website.
I am also excited to announce that the Town will be welcoming back the U.S. Coast Guard Band for a free concert in Madison on Sunday, June 25th at 6 p.m. on the Town Green. The Coast Guard Band is the premier band representing the United States Coast Guard and the Department of Homeland Security. Join us for a collection of patriotic music to kick-off our summer concert series
Independence Day Events
The schedule for this year’s July 4th activities has been finalized.
Special event parking policies at Town beaches along with planned road closures will be in place throughout the holiday weekend. More information will be available on the Town’s website.
Summer 2023 Beach StickersBeach parking stickers for residents are available for purchase online, through the mail, or in person at the Beach & Rec office located at the Surf Club. Parking stickers or daily parking passes will be required at all three Town beaches seven days a week starting on Monday, June 19th through Labor Day. Note that during the long July 4th holiday weekend, the Town will not be selling any beach parking passes in-person. Residents wishing to buy passes for their guests need to plan ahead.
A reminder that gate guards and lifeguards will be staffed 7 days a week beginning Monday, June 19th. Please visit the Town website for more information on pricing and ways to purchase a sticker.
Dog Licenses I want to remind Madison dog owners that June is dog licensing month in Connecticut. This year the Town is offering many options to obtain a license, including an online renewal of previous licenses. Please visit the Town Clerk’s website or call 203-245-5672 for more information. Tax Bills
Please note that the Town anticipates the 2022 Grand List tax bills to be mailed on June 20, 2023. The first installment of tax is due July 1, 2023 and the last day to pay without penalty is August 1, 2023. Tax bills will also be viewable and payable online at www.madisonct.org/tax starting June 21, 2023. The tax office will begin accepting payments in person on June 21, 2023 along with the tax collector’s drop box located on the exterior wall of the Tax Collector’s Office.
Please note that Town offices will be closed on Monday, June 19th in recognition of the Juneteenth federal and state holiday. Juneteenth commemorates the day when the last enslaved people in the country were informed of their freedom.
