As we begin to experience cooler temperatures, the Madison Senior Services is now taking applications for the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program for Madison residents age 65 and over. Please contact the Senior Center at 203-245-5627 to check for eligibility.
New Elementary School Building Project Workshop
The Tecton Architects, the architecture firm designing the new Pre-K - 5 school on Mungertown Road, will hold a workshop to gather input from the community on the new building Wednesday, September 28 from 6-8 p.m. at Polson Middle School. All Madison residents are encouraged to attend and participate. If you are unable to attend, there will be multiple other in-person and virtual opportunities throughout the fall and winter to share your thoughts. Bauer Park Harvest Festival
This October the Town is excited to welcome back again a great fall tradition - the Bauer Park Harvest Festival, which is being held on Saturday, October 15th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at Bauer Park on Copse Road at the intersection with Hunter's Trail. This is a free, family friendly old-fashioned country fair at Madison's Historic Farm Bauer Park and includes hay and pony rides, children's crafts, apple tasting and cider press, pumpkin painting, a hay maze, live music, scarecrow making, and more.
Rockland Preserve Native Pollinator Habitat Planting Fest
Earlier this month the America Rescue Plan Committee awarded funding for the development of a pollinator habitat at Rockland Preserve. The Rockland Preserve Advisory Committee is now looking for volunteers to help plant shrubs and perennials for this native pollinator habitat on Saturday, October 15th and Saturday, October 29th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Please meet at Renee’s Way Trailhead, 99 Renee’s Way. We are excited to announce that the 3rd annual Madison PrideFest will be held on the Town Green on October 9th from noon to 4 pm. This event supports performers, vendors and the youth within the LGBTQIA+ community.
Madison’s Climate Change Event, is a non-partisan talk that covers the science of climate change and why there are reasons for both hope and concern, organized by MAD for Trees, Saturday, October 8th at the Madison Surf Club, beach clean-up from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and tabletop expo and refreshments from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and C-Change Presentation from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Climate Change event registration and information
Absentee Ballot Applications Available
The Town Clerk would like to remind residents that the 2022 State Elections are scheduled for Tuesday, November 8th. Although Absentee Ballots are not available until October 7th, you can obtain an Absentee Ballot Application now in the Town Clerk’s office or from the website. The Town Clerk’s drop box is now open to receive applications. More information on the election, absentee ballots and voting locations is available at http://www.madisonct.org/vote
