Please take note that similar to other towns along the shoreline, the Town of Madison is seeing a rapid rise in active COVID-19 cases in our community. At the start of July we had no active cases in Town, and now in the early days of August, we have 14 cases. In order to protect the health and safety of the public and town employees, the Town will be reinstituting an indoor mask requirement for all town facilities starting this Monday, August 9th. This mask policy will apply to all Town employees and members of the public regardless of vaccination status. Rather than visiting Town Campus in person, we continue to encourage residents to access departmental services online when possible, or use available drop boxes located across from the Police Department. We also encourage residents to wear a mask in any indoor public space, including local retail stores, restaurants and other indoor settings.
Although Madison has one of the highest vaccination rates in New Haven County, we still have many eligible residents who have not been vaccinated. In addition, children under the age of 12 are not able to be vaccinated and therefore vulnerable to the virus. If you are having difficulties getting access to the vaccine, please contact our Health Department at (203) 245-5681 for assistance in finding a vaccine clinic.
