New Curbing

UPDATE: September 21, 2015 New Granite Curbing The new granite curbing was laid from Wall Street along the north side of main street to the eastern edge of Café Allegre as the contractor has been concentrating construction work on the eastern half of the north side of main street. During this portion of construction the parking spaces have been closed off in the section, however businesses remain open and accessible. Parking spaces have been plentiful throughout town. During the first part of this week the contractor will be pouring a concrete base in front of the businesses along the area section where the sidewalk has been removed. This will provide safe and easy pedestrian access to all businesses. Additionally, fencing is being replaced to be more pedestrian friendly and less obstructive to businesses. Business owners, residents and visitors are reminded to adhere to all posted parking restrictions. Madison’s main street, the west side of Wall Street and the parking area immediately behind RJ Julia’s and People’s Bank on the south side of main street have a two hour parking limit Monday – Saturday. Untimed parking is available in the parking area just to the east of the Stop and Shop lot. Need to report an issue or problem with construction? Contact the Selectman’s Office at 203-245-5602.
