Madison First Selectman Thomas J. Banisch announced today that the Board of Selectmen voted unanimously at their August 13, 2018 meeting to approve modifying the Town Operating Hours Schedule affecting Town Campus Offices. The intent of this action is to provide service to the public beyond the traditional work day hours by continuing to stay open late on Thursdays on a year-round basis. The Town Campus Building will be open to the public from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday; from 8:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, and from 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Friday. The Modified Hours Program will begin on Tuesday September 4, 2018.
First Selectman Banisch stated that this Modified Hours Program was as a result of a successful Summer Hours Program launched in 2017 and continued in 2018. In order to further benefit the public, the Town will continue on a modified schedule year-round. “By continuing a modified schedule, the public will continue to benefit from being able to conduct Town business outside of their normal working hours on Thursday nights; as well as with an additional half hour of time on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. This will continue to help the public in avoiding the need to take time away from their careers in order to pay taxes, apply for beach passes, etc.,” the First Selectman added.
Effective September 4, 2018:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 8:30 AM- 4:30 PM
- Thursday 8:30 AM - 6:30 PM
- Friday 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM
Operating hours for the Madison Senior Center and the Board of Education remain unchanged.
