To avoid misunderstandings, please contact the Town Clerk’s Office at 203-245-5672. No one but Town Clerk Staff should be giving out any information regarding Absentee Ballots. Per State statute, no one is allowed to distribute more than five (5) Applications without registering them with the Town Clerk.
Absentee Ballot APPLICATIONS are AVAILABLE NOW at the Town Clerk’s office or online here: Application
Absentee Ballots will be available FOR PICK UP beginning Friday, Sept. 15, 2017 at the Town Clerk’s office 8 Campus Drive. At that time, you can come in and fill out the application and your absentee ballot at the same time.
To obtain an Absentee Ballot:
An Application MUST BE COMPLETED BY THE VOTER OR TAXPAYER prior to issuance of the Ballot. Applications are available online and in the Town Clerk’s Office.
The voter must obtain the Ballot IN PERSON at the Town Clerk’s office OR may designate a third party to pick up their Ballot (see Application). That designee may be one of the following people:
- A person caring for the voter because of illness.
- A member of the voter’s family.
- A police officer in the municipality in which the voter resides.
- A registrar, deputy or assistant registrar of voters.
The Ballot must be returned to the Town Clerk’s office by mail or by the designee before the end of business on voting day, Sept. 26, 2017.
Those who are taxpayers but not registered voters in the Town of Madison may be eligible to vote on the Ryerson Elementary School Referendum.
