Parent Support Counseling is a therapeutic treatment modality provided for parents with children up to age 18, who are searching for more effective strategies to manage their child’s challenging behaviors. Parent Support Counseling offers short-term, solution focused approaches to specific concerns in our Outpatient Clinic. We are in-network with many commercial insurance providers and also offer a sliding fee scale for parent support counseling.
Collaboration between Madison Public Schools and Madison Youth & Family Services allows us to offer 10 free parent support counseling sessions. These sessions are available to parents of children in pre-kindergarten through grade 3, who are referred through a grant known as “School Community Outreach Program Exchange” or SCOPE. SCOPE services are short-term and delivered in a combination of in-home and in-office sessions. SCOPE services include:
consultation on child development and positive discipline
education and support groups for parents
solution focused approach to problem solving
referral for appropriate post SCOPE services
Please contact Madison Youth and Family Services at 203-245-5645 for additional information or to determine if parent support counseling is the right approach for your family.
