Parent Support Counseling

Parent Support Counseling is a therapeutic treatment modality provided for parents with children up to age 18, who are searching for more effective strategies to manage their child’s challenging behaviors.  Parent Support Counseling offers short-term, solution focused approaches to specific concerns in our Outpatient Clinic. We are in-network with many commercial insurance providers and also offer a sliding fee scale for parent support counseling.

Collaboration between Madison Public Schools and Madison Youth & Family Services allows us to offer 10 free parent support counseling sessions.   These sessions are available to parents of children in pre-kindergarten through grade 3, who are referred through a grant known as “School Community Outreach Program Exchange” or SCOPE.  SCOPE services are short-term and delivered in a combination of in-home and in-office sessions.  SCOPE services include:

  • consultation on child development and positive discipline
  • education and support groups for parents
  • solution focused approach to problem solving
  • family advocacy
  • family assessment
  • referral for appropriate post SCOPE services
