Shoreline Greenway Trail

Public Information Meeting
Shoreline Greenway Trail Construction

The Town of Madison is currently in the planning phase of an anticipated project to construct an approximate 4,000 foot section of the Shoreline Greenway Trail multi-use trail.  The planned trail section would be located on the south side of the Boston Post Road (U.S Route One), and begin at the East River bridge at the Madison-Guilford Town line and extend to the Nathans Lane intersection, just east of the Amtrak railroad bridge crossing.

This section of the Shoreline Greenway Trail is part of segment M-1 identified in the Preliminary Engineering Study prepared by Stantec Consulting Services, Inc. in 2010 for the planned overall 23 mile multi-use trail project in the Towns of East Haven, Branford, Guilford, and Madison.  The section will also be a continuation of a portion of the Shoreline Greenway Trail currently being considered by the Town of Guilford that is also planned to begin at the East River bridge.

The project will be funded by a combination of State and Federal funds.

A public information meeting regarding the planned project will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. in the Hammonasset Room (Meeting Room C) of the Town Offices Building, located at 8 Campus Drive, Madison, Connecticut.

Representatives of the Towns Engineering Department and the Shoreline Greenway Trail organization will be in attendance to review the project and to receive comments and answer questions from the public.

Questions regarding the project prior to the public information meeting should be directed to the Director of Engineering Services and Town Engineer, Michael J. Ott, P.E. at 203-245-5612 or by email at
