Transportation Options

Madison residents, aged 60 or older, and disabled residents have transportation service options including the fixed route Madison Senior Bus, Dial-A-Ride, and Madison Community Services: Medical Transportation. Transportation arrangements for the fixed routes and Dial-A-Ride are handled through the Madison Senior Center 203-245-5687 and 203-245-5627, or email Ellie Gillespie.

Dial-A-Ride

Dial-A-Ride is a public transportation service designed to meet the transportation needs of the elderly and disabled. Rides may be used in the 14-town Shoreline Region including medial appointments (1st priority), shopping, personal business and work. Rides are given in a 14 town region for medical appointments, and personal business on a first come first served basis, so please call early as we are often booked several days in advance.

Senior Bus

Fixed routes to the Senior Center, downtown, special events, hot lunch program & Thursday grocery shopping are provided regularly. Pick-up notice of 48 hours is required.

Madison Community Services

Madison Community Services provides medical appointment transportation (local and surrounding areas). Seven days notice required. Call 203-245-3031.

The Shoreline Shuttle Estuary Transit District 

Routes includes pick up at the Senior Center at 10:20 a.m. and return at 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Call 860-510-0429 to make pick-up arrangements. Pre-registration is required.

The 9-Town Transit Bus

The 9-Town Transit Bus (Madison to Old Saybrook) connects with the Dattco Bus to New Haven at the Scranton Gazebo Parking Lot. The TDD and TTY phone number is 800-842-9710.
