Finding Your House

Help Us Locate Your House During Emergencies

One of the most important things you can do to assist the Town's emergency responders (police, fire and ambulance) is to properly identify your house so they can locate it quickly in an emergency.

For your safety, ensure your house has the following:

  • House number is on front of house
  • Numbers are at least 3" in height
  • Color of numbers contrast with background color (reflective numbers are best)
  • Numbers are clearly visible from street
  • If house is more than 100 feet from street, put numbers on your mailbox or a post at the street (put numbers on both side of mailbox; emergency responders may be coming from either direction)
  • If you share a driveway with a neighbor(s), have numbers and arrows posted where driveways diverge to indicate location of each house
