Fall Social Groups

Fall 2022 Elementary & Intermediate Social Skills Group (Grades 1-5)

Tuesday’s 4:00-5:00 pm

10/25, 11/1, 11/8, 11/15, 11/22, 11/29, 12/6, 12/13 

Week 1- Introducing yourself and asking questions (getting to know each other, ways to greet others) 

Week 2- Active and attentive listening skills (whole body listening)

Week 3- Nonverbal skills (personal space, body language, eye contact) 

Week 4- Working through a conflict (size of the problem, accepting ‘no’ as an answer) 

Week 5- Joining and engaging in group activities (asking someone to play with you and compromising) 

Week 6- Manners and expected/unexpected behaviors (eating, please/thank you, bathroom etiquette) 

Week 7- Boundaries (circles program, safe/unsafe strangers) 

Week 8- Cooperative group activity (planning for a play date)

Fall 2022 Middle School Social Skills Group (Grades 6-8)

Wednesday’s 4:00-5:00pm

10/26, 11/2, 11/9, 11/16, 11/30, 12/7 , 12/14, 12/21

Week 1- Introducing yourself and asking/answering questions (getting to know each other, ways to greet others) 

Week 2- Understanding and using figurative language 

Week 3- Active and attentive listening skills (whole body listening) 

Week 4- Nonverbal skills (personal space, body language) 

Week 5- Conversation skills- politely interrupting, starting and exiting a conversation 

Week 6- Conversation skills- keeping a conversation going and staying on topic 

Week 7- Expressing feelings 

Week 8- Being a supportive friend, group activity

Wednesday’s 5:30-6:30pm
