Letter to Residents
July 2014

Dear Madison Resident:

The Town of Madison is a Clean Energy Community and has been promoting Home Energy SolutionsSM (HES), an Energize Connecticut program brought to you by Connecticut Light & Power. In addition to saving you energy and money at home, our HES partners donate $25 for each completed HES visit to the Neighbor to Neighbor energy assistance program. Since October 2012, 395 Madison homes participated in HES resulting in a contribution of $17,875!

For a small fee*, certified and insured contractors will evaluate household energy usage and provide an average of $750 of energy efficiency and weatherization services to you. These include:
  • Free energy-efficient lighting (LED and compact fluorescent light bulbs)
  • Water-saving devices, including low-flow, high-pressure showerheads and faucet aerators
  • The latest technology to seal-up air leaks in your home, including door sweeps, weather-stripping and caulking
  • Additional rebates for home insulation, HVAC systems and other appliances
Participants save an average of $250 each year, every year, in energy savings.

If you have not yet participated, the Madison Energy Committee is offering an additional bonus. Schedule you visit prior to August 31, 2014 and receive five FREE, energy saving LED bulbs in addition to all the benefits of HES. These free LED bulbs were made possible by a Bright Idea Grant earned through the Clean Energy Communities program in partnership with Connecticut Light & Power.

Once your visit is complete, a $25 donation will be made to the Town of Madison's Neighbor to Neighbor fund. This Fund provides valuable energy assistance to help Madison residents heat their homes. For more information and donation updates, visit www.Madisonct.org/energy. Donations will be made by our HES partners: New England Conservation Services and Energy Resources Group Technologies.

The Town of Madison and the Madison Town Energy & Efficiency Committee have partnered with Energize Connecticut to make these programs available.
